Lab could close the gap between research and policymaking in the Netherlands, say government advisers
The Dutch government needs to set up an expert body to improve the use of evidence in policymaking, according to the AWTI, a government advisory body on science and technology.
The council has proposed the creation of a Policy Lab to provide expertise and support to civil servants in all ministries. The Netherlands is brimming with knowledge but the government is not making sufficient use of it, the council said in a recommendation issued on 9 February.
