Dutch researchers need clarity over intersection of academic freedom and free speech, KNAW says
The KNAW academy of sciences has issued a report setting out the boundaries and responsibilities of academic freedom.
In the report, which elaborates on a 2018 letter of advice sent to the Dutch House of Representatives, the academy defines the meaning of academic freedom and stresses that academics must be free to perform scientific research, disclose their findings and teach.
