Virtual infrastructure will pool information for research and analysis, protecting sensitive data with blockchain technology
The University of Amsterdam has teamed up with several partners to launch a data exchange programme in support of research and innovation.
The institution and four other founders, including the not-for-profit Amsterdam Economic Board and Surf, an ICT-focused association of universities and research institutes, have put €1.5 million into the Amsterdam Data Exchange platform. The programme, known as Amdex, will facilitate the sharing of digital information and services between participants. A further €1.2m has been provided by the European Regional Development Fund.
