Dutch government asks EU for permission to subsidise innovation in growing field

The number of public-private research and innovation projects on carbon-free hydrogen production in the Netherlands has grown from around 100 to 130 in the past year, a report has said.

The inventory report, compiled by public body TKI New Gas, says that the Dutch government, local businesses and research institutions see such work as an indispensable link to future energy supply and raw materials. Jörg Gigler, managing director of TKI New Gas, said some of these projects had up to 20 partners. “There is a lot of enthusiasm and cooperation between public and private parties in these projects,” he said.
