Dutch government told to prioritise green hydrogen

Industry-academia group calls for investment of billions of euros to help hit emissions targets

A group of academics and business representatives in the Netherlands has called on the Dutch government to scale up the production of green hydrogen to boost industry.

The Hydrogen and Green Chemistry ‘roundtable’ issued a “common action agenda” at the end of June, outlining a roadmap towards achieving the Dutch climate targets for 2030 and 2050. The agenda includes a proposal to invest billions of euros in the field through the second round of the National Growth Fund.
