Netherlands commits to research assessment reform

Major institutions sign international pact focusing on fair recognition of academic achievements

Dutch universities and research institutions have pledged to improve research assessment in line with European standards on best practice.

The NFU federation of university medical centres, the KNAW academy of sciences, the NWO research council and the UNL university group signed the European Agreement on Reforming Research Assessment on 11 October. Fourteen individual universities also signed up to the treaty.
