‘New-style’ institutes to tackle climate and data challenges

Two experimental Dutch research centres will aim to facilitate interdisciplinary work and boost efficiency

The Dutch research council NWO and the KNAW science academy have announced plans to set up two “new-style” national institutes to help tackle data infrastructure and climate issues.

To boost research efficiency on these urgent challenges, the institutes will aim to accelerate interdisciplinary collaboration, provide national coordination and supply researchers with reliable basic funding.
