More women than men obtained Dutch PhDs in 2021

  

But rising equality among graduates does not translate into more female senior academics

In 2021, for the first time in history, more women than men obtained a PhD at a Dutch university, according to graduation figures from the government agency Statistics Netherlands.

The data show that last year, 2,612 women and 2,607 men achieved their doctorates.
