Institute intended to support academics in talking to the public and make Dutch research more visible

The Netherlands is on the verge getting a national centre for science communication, which will be tasked with gathering and sharing expertise on how scientists can become better at talking to the public.

Science minister Robbert Dijkgraaf has pledged €10 million to the effort, hoping to make science communication more effective. This should help science become more visible and accessible, the minister said when announcing the plans on 25 May.
