Government deemed ‘trapped in the past’ as nationwide study fails to incorporate economic factors
Denmark’s researchers have hit back at the government over a ground-breaking report, which found that many of the nation’s poorer families still struggle to access higher education.
The government’s first-ever Inequality Statement found that more must be done to ensure that children from economically disadvantaged backgrounds have a chance to complete secondary and tertiary education. In the statement’s foreword, Denmark’s acting minister of finance Morten Bødskov said the report was a first step towards creating “truly equal opportunities”.
