Union-government deal includes better maternity leave and more security for teaching assistants

Around 80,000 Danish academics will be getting a 4.42 per cent pay increase over the next three years as a result of the OK21 agreement, a deal reached last week between the Danish government and trade unions.

The collective agreement for all academics in the state sector, hammered out on 6 February, provides a number of improvements in employee terms and benefits. These include a higher salary supplement for associate professors and better maternity terms for temporary employees.
