Norway gives half a billion to global health research

Funds to go towards maternal health, collaboration and pandemic prevention

The Norwegian government is planning to increase spending on global health research by 500 million Norwegian kroner (€49m) over the next 10 years.

The money is meant to contribute to lasting improvements in the health of vulnerable groups in low- and lower middle-income countries, the government said. However, it added that the resulting knowledge would also be relevant for public health strategy and schemes.
