Denmark aims to beef up interdisciplinary collaboration

Research and innovation council plans two studies on success of mission-driven projects

The Danish Research and Innovation Policy Council (DFiR) is undertaking two reviews to assess how research funding can better support collaboration between disciplines and sectors.

In the first project—Interdisciplinarity and Diversity in Research and Innovation—the council will examine Denmark’s potential for collaboration between academic disciplines. The council said on 22 February that it would study how the country’s research and innovation system can best realise its potential and provide robust, implementable solutions to major societal challenges.
