Nationwide consultation reveals unhappiness with Norway’s PhD and postdoc education system
Norway’s early-career researchers would like to see more regulation around temporary contracts and more long-term financing, a nationwide consultation has found.
The National Council of the Forskerforbundet, Norway’s researcher union, held a digital meeting with PhD students and young scientists on 23 and 24 March. During the debates, it emerged that a lack of reliable career paths and the uncertainty of temporary employment were among the main concerns of budding academics in the country.
