Long-term studies and research quality in Sweden are on the decline, SULF reports find
Swedish science is overly dependent on external funding, which places an undue amount of uncertainty and stress on researchers and lecturers, two reports have said.
Compiled by SULF, the union of Swedish scientist and university teachers, the first report found that external funding, including money distributed by public research councils and industry, accounts for 60 per cent of the country’s science budget. The report is based on a survey undertaken by SULF titled Vart tar pengarna vägen? (Where does the money go?).
