Swedish council demands open access publication for all results

Any articles derived from work funded by the organisation must be available immediately, rules state

The Vetenskapsrådet, the Swedish Research Council, has decreed that all research publications resulting from work funded since October this year will have to be published in an immediate open access format.

The change of rules will apply to work wholly or partly funded by the council, and covers all forms of publications, the Vetenskapsrådet said. “We believe that everyone should have access to research results that are financed by public funds,” the organisation says.
