Time spent on studies drops across Norway

        

Students’ learning time has decreased by five hours a week, prompting calls for better support

Norwegian students spend less time on their studies than previously, according to a national survey by the Folkehelseinstituttet, Norway’s Institute of Public Health.

Compared with 2014, students’ average weekly study time has decreased by more than five hours. On average, students in 2022 spent just 21.7 hours a week engaging in academic activities. This was 24 hours in 2018 and 27 hours in 2014, the survey showed.
