Plan covering education, infrastructure access, technology transfer and research coming ‘soon’

The European Commission is preparing to “soon” propose an updated Innovation Agenda for the Western Balkans, covering not only innovation but also research, education, culture youth and sport—the portfolio areas of commissioner Mariya Gabriel.

The Commission said in a 6 October strategy document for the southern European region that it wants the innovation plan to boost technology transfer, help researchers access EU infrastructures like supercomputers, promote open science, stop brain drain and “foster…the transition to a knowledge-based economy”.
