Ministry’s 2021 budget boosted by 59 per cent to €3.2 billion
Spain’s ministry of science and innovation has hailed as “historic” a 59 per cent boost to its annual budget, which gives it €3.2 billion to allocate in 2021.
The bigger budget is part of the government’s 2021-27 strategy for science, technology and innovation, which aims to almost double Spain’s public and private investment in R&D, bringing it to 2.12 per cent of the country’s GDP in 2027 from 1.25 per cent at present.
