Switzerland’s national funder warns of low success rates for 270 registrants to new grant programme
The Swiss National Science Foundation has warned that it is on course to receive a “large number of applications” for its Advanced Grants funding scheme, created this year as an alternative to European Research Council Advanced Grants after relations between Switzerland and the EU soured, leaving researchers in the country ineligible for funding from the bloc.
The SNSF said on 12 November that 270 Switzerland-based researchers pre-registered for its Advanced Grants and that this was “three times more” than the number who applied for ERC Advanced Grants.
