Spain approves €134m R&D spend for autonomous regions

       

Funding is the first of several rounds to be co-funded by central and regional governments

The Spanish government has approved legislation allocating €134 million in R&D spending to the country’s autonomous regions as part of its post-Covid recovery, transformation and resilience plan.

The €134m is earmarked for co-funding research projects in four areas: biotechnology in healthcare, marine sciences, quantum communications and renewable energy research.
