Slovakia advised to tackle issues with using EU funds for R&D

Lack of evaluators, heavy workloads and inexperience hamper country’s use of development funds, OECD says

Slovakia is struggling to use its large slice of EU development funding for economy-boosting R&D, in part due to bureaucratic bottlenecks, according to the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development.

The OECD identified problems with Slovakia’s personnel and processes in a 31 August report, in which it thanked various Slovak government officials for their cooperation on the work.
