EU and Japan agree to boost their research ties

   

“Flourishing” partnership will transform to a “green alliance” that includes stronger R&D links

The EU and Japan have recommitted to research cooperation, promising closer ties around environmental sustainability, researcher mobility, space and quantum technology.

The promises of closer partnership follow a virtual meeting of the European Commission and European Council presidents, Ursula von der Leyen and Charles Michel, with the Japanese prime minister, Yoshihide Suga.
