ERA-monitoring plans draw scepticism

Member states unlikely to support scoreboard for tracking European Research Area progress, university groups say

The research sector has reacted with scepticism to suggestions that progress on the European Research Area policy package should be monitored using a centralised scoring system.

While the idea of better tracking is widely supported, research sector leaders have questioned the willingness of member states to supply the data needed to make a scoring system meaningful.
