University group calls for certainty on EU R&D budget

It is “lamentable and unwise” that the 2023 budget could be cut, says Leru

The League of European Research Universities has called for greater certainty around the EU’s research and innovation budget, and warned against cuts being sought by national governments to the budget for next year.

Leru voiced its concerns on 23 September after the Council of the EU—which brings together the 27 member state governments—proposed cuts to the 2023 budget for Horizon Europe, the bloc’s R&I funding programme.
