US ‘wants friendly competition’ with EU on clean technologies

Director of Congressional coalition seeks cooperation on climate R&D but says competition is also “vital”

US lawmakers want “friendly competition” with the EU on green technologies while also partnering with it on research and innovation, according to the director of a Congressional environment group.

David Schutt, the executive director of the House of Representatives Sustainable Energy and Environment Coalition, told Research Professional News: “We want the EU and the US to be pushing each other to be more ambitious.”
