EU simplifies public funding of R&D in small companies

Commission says rule change will increase participation in Important Projects of Common European Interest

The European Commission has made it easier for EU member states to use public funds to support R&D in small companies, by tweaking the criteria for collaborative initiatives in priority areas.

On 25 November, the Commission announced it had revised rules for providing state aid via so-called Important Projects of Common European Interest, or IPCEIs.
