Universities want digital education support to cross borders

Networked classes could allow interactions between students and lecturers anywhere in the world

The EU’s upcoming digital education strategy should make the most of the possibilities offered by virtual teaching, such as the ability to eliminate geographical borders, a university group has said.

In its feedback on the European Commission’s Digital Education Action Plan, which is feeding into the EU’s Covid-19 response, the Coimbra Group of universities said proposals should support “quality transnational digital education initiatives”.
