Universities lament UK’s Erasmus exit

    

Move means no more EU funding for British participation in cross-border European Universities Initiative

Universities on both sides of the English Channel have expressed dismay that the UK government has ended participation by its researchers and university students in the EU’s Erasmus programme.

Since its inception in the 1980s, Erasmus has funded many thousands of student exchanges both into and out of the UK. It has also recently begun funding higher-level, cross-border institutional cooperation.
