Cesaer re-elects president for second term

Science and technology-focused universities association gives another two years to Ghent University rector

Ghent University rector Rik Van de Walle has been re-elected as president of Cesaer, the association for science and technology-focused universities in Europe.

The group counts more than 50 institutions as members, ranging from Aalborg University in Denmark to Warsaw University of Technology in Poland. At its 35th General Assembly on 15 October, the association’s members voted to extend Van de Walle’s leadership by another two years from 2022-23. Van de Walle was first elected as Cesaer president in October 2019 and began his first term on 1 January 2020.
