Nearly doubled budget for 2021-27 Erasmus+ programme ‘shows importance’ of education, says commissioner

The European Commission has adopted the first annual work programme and launched calls for the 2021-27 iteration of the EU’s Erasmus+ mobility scheme, which funds students, teachers and other groups to undertake study and training abroad, as well as supporting higher education more generally.

With a budget of €26.2 billion plus €2.2bn in external funding, the programme is expected to support mobility for 10 million Europeans over the next seven years, the Commission said on 25 March.
