Actions must involve students and staff, says European University Association paper
Universities’ efforts to become more environmentally sustainable must not be confined to dedicated teams or units but must instead engage students and staff and cover “all areas of activity”, according to a paper from the European University Association.
“Impact can only be achieved and maintained through an ecosystemic approach: involving students and staff,” said Julie Gwilliam, chair of an EUA peer group on sustainability, and EUA coordinator Helene Peterbauer in a report of the group’s work published on 19 March.
