European Universities need long-term funding, network says

   

Coimbra Group wants next European Universities alliances to be launched in 2022

The Coimbra Group of multidisciplinary universities has called on the European Commission to provide long-term funding to the cross-border cooperative alliances the EU is supporting under its European Universities Initiative.

The group, which has 32 of its 41 members involved in alliances, said on 7 June that “long-term structural programmatic funding” is needed for when alliances transition out of their current pilot phase.
