Plans include flagship initiatives on cross-border European University Initiative alliances
After months of consultations and anxious waiting among academic leaders, the European Commission has today finally published its long-awaited strategy for European universities and its proposals for increasing cooperation in higher education.
The strategy sets four objectives: a more ‘European dimension’ to universities’ research and education; a bigger part for them in the EU’s global leadership; a key role in the bloc’s digital and green transitions; and a stronger role in society, including through the support of skills, democracy and fundamental rights.
