Calls for academic freedom, decent salaries, better working conditions and tackling gender imbalance in Europe
European education trade unions have called on governments across the continent to take action to boost the attractiveness of academic careers.
In a policy paper adopted last week, the European Trade Union Committee for Education and the European branch of global union Education International urged union members to campaign for a set of demands “to improve the attractiveness of the teaching profession in all education sectors, including the research sector”.
