Science can help to change the world
It is El Clásico all over again. Just one month after Barcelona set out its plans to become the first city with a science diplomacy strategy, Madrid went bigger with its first global meeting on science diplomacy in December 2018.
A resulting document, the Madrid Declaration on Science Diplomacy, was published on 12 February. It calls on policymakers to build stronger links between science and diplomatic efforts, and consider science when planning foreign policy.
