A duty of care

Universities must improve support for parents in lockdown

Ask academics how they are coping with lockdown and you’ll get a wide range of answers. Some are reading copiously; they treasure the fresh ideas solitude brings and might proudly admit to finishing that paper they’ve been meaning to submit for years. 

Others stuck at home do not read or publish or come up with new ideas. They fall into bed exhausted at 10pm, many of them after a long and arduous day of childcare.
