The science of loneliness

As the pandemic has dragged on, many people around the world have been cut off from family, friends, colleagues and society in general. Little wonder, then, that a ‘science for policy report’ from the Joint Research Centre—the European Commission’s evidence service—found that Covid-19 had “magnified the problem” of loneliness in the EU.
