EU spending under scrutiny

Since Russia invaded Ukraine, EU spending on oil and gas supplies from the aggressor country has been drawing a lot of attention. According to various analyses, the bloc has spent tens of billions of euros on Russian fossil fuels during the invasion, providing income to Russia that commentators say has helped to prop up its war effort.
