Women in tertiary education seek better deal

New Zealand’s female academics debate their future under the next government with rival politicians

Quotas, family responsibilities and the gender pay gap are seen as key policy issues in the New Zealand election among women working in tertiary education.

At an online panel discussion on Tuesday, run by the New Zealand Tertiary Education Union (TEU), sitting parliamentarians from leading parties outlined their policies around women in the workforce and in higher education, watched by female and feminist academics, and tertiary education administrators.
