Work on tsunamis, islands and flood risks funded in latest round of government scheme
The New Zealand government’s Endeavour Fund has announced NZ$187 million in research grants in its latest round.
The grants, announced on 11 September, include more than NZ$13m for the Auckland Museum Trust Board to develop a project on a holistic approach to transforming ecosystem wellbeing. The project, focusing on Rangitāhua, or the Kermadec Islands (pictured), north-east of New Zealand’s North Island, will investigate ways of “building knowledge synergies between Mātauranga Māori and science”.
