New Zealanders trust their scientists, study shows

           

Wellcome Global Monitor puts Australia and New Zealand top for trust in science

New Zealanders and Australians have the world’s highest level of trust in scientists, according to a global study of attitudes towards science and health.

The Wellcome Global Monitor 2020 survey found that 62 per cent of people in New Zealand and Australia put “a lot” of trust in their country’s scientists. This was up by 15 percentage points from 47 per cent in 2018. The survey grouped New Zealand and Australia together.
