Group warns of missed opportunity to make research an essential component of the health system

New Zealand’s budget plans will have a negative effect on health research policy and dilute measures of wellbeing in public health policy, a research alliance has warned.

“An important window of opportunity appears to be closing to have health research embedded as an essential component of the health system,” said New Zealanders for Health Research, whose members include four universities and the Malaghan and Cawthron institutes.
