Draft strategy looks for higher-quality international market focused on New Zealand’s needs

New Zealand is launching a charm offensive to rebuild its international education market. 

A two-phase strategy would see New Zealand shift to “high quality” international education tailored to local and regional labour needs. Universities and other providers would move from trying to grow their markets continuously to developing “sustainable and resilient” international education programmes.
