New Zealand releases climate adaptation plan

Scientists say strategy is a good start but will need more work to implement

New Zealand’s Climate Adaptation Plan is a welcome start but will need regular revisions to deal with the ongoing effects of global warming, the country’s scientists have said. 

The plan, released on 3 August, calls for more research on how to remove and store carbon from the atmosphere. It also outlines improvements to marine planning and more work on the social impacts of climate change.
