Otago joins forces with German centre on hydrogen storage

Three-year project builds on New Zealand-German research agreement

A University of Otago team has secured a three-year grant to cooperate with German researchers on hydrogen storage.

The collaboration between the university’s chemistry department and the Institute of Hydrogen Technology at the Helmholtz Zentrum Hereon will be funded with a total of NZ$2.4 million by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research and New Zealand’s Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment. The New Zealand ministry is providing its NZ$2m share through its Catalyst Fund.
