‘Crude’ earnings data is putting students off the arts

London Higher calls for better measure of course value to bolster creative study

The use of “crude graduate earnings data” to attempt to place a value on different degree courses is discouraging university applicants from opting to study courses in the creative disciplines, a group of London universities has said.

In a report published on 15 June, London Higher called on the UK government to make it “a priority to bolster the UK’s creative talent pipeline” by fostering an appreciation for the arts from students at primary school level through to university.
