British Council starts first Russia programme since 2018 ban

Cultural body launches new programme to deepen research links, despite being told to exit Russia

The British Council has announced its first UK-Russia academic programme since the cultural body was ordered to stop working in Russia in 2018.

On 12 October, the British Council said its UK-Russia University Alliance programme would “connect the next generation of science leaders” with research collaboration between universities in the two countries.
