Vice-chancellors’ report provides case studies of research and practical support for communities during coronavirus pandemic
Welsh universities have carried out “critical and essential research” into Covid-19, according to the vice-chancellors’ body Universities Wales.
In a report published on 23 September, one case study detailed how a Swansea University research team had revealed that the public was “torn” over whether to use the UK-wide Covid-19 contact-tracing smartphone app. Another showed how Cardiff University had worked with other universities to “support a new genome-sequencing consortium to map the spread of Covid-19”.
