Charity’s gender pay gap is 15.9% and bonus gap 18.2% despite research culture drive

The Wellcome Trust’s drive to build a better research culture has been questioned after the charity revealed a gender pay gap of almost 16 per cent and bonus gap of more than 18 per cent.

According to the latest data published by the research funder on 11 February 2021, the Wellcome Trust (pictured) had a gender gap in median pay of 15.9 per cent, slightly over the UK average, which the Office for National Statistics reported as 15.5 per cent in 2020.
